In line with its vision to “Take Tabuan Jaya and Beyond for Christ”, TJAC started its Community Welfare Services in late May 2011, with the formation of the Community Welfare Committee.

The Committee was later renamed Victory Community Link (VCL) to spearhead the following objectives:

1. Give hope to the poor, needy and marginalized section of the community by
2. Providing food, clothing and basic daily needs to them and
3. Helping them free themselves and gain victory over the bondages of poverty and other ailments through the sharing of the Gospel and the love of Christ

VCL is made up of Bro. Alex Tan as advisor, Bro. Ron Bunchol as Chairman and Sis. Margaret Ong as Secretary.  The other members are Bro. Yap Min Su, Bro. Robert Chang, Sis. Esther Paat and Sis. Linda Liew.

The team goes out every month end to distribute the food. As at 30 September 2011, the Committee had 10 families under its wing covering areas such as Kampung Taee at Kuching Serian Road, surrounding Kuching city areas such as Sungai Apong, Chawan Road, and the nearby Kampung Stutong.

VCL is looking for more volunteers as it seeks to go to other areas within Kuching. Volunteers are needed to sort out donated food and clothing, as well as to distribute the donations.  VCL is also planning to have more involvement by the cell groups as it spearheads this evangelistic effort on a long term basis.

 “There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded towards your brothers and towards the poor and needy in your land” (Deu. 15:11)

1. For anointed Speaker who will speak to us on unity in the Body of Christ.
2. For God’s wisdom to be upon the organizers (Cana & Philippi Home Cells) for a memorable Church Camp this year.
3. For the well being of the participants that they will not only receive God’s message but enjoy their stay.
4. That the venue, facilities, food & beverages will be excellent & adequate.
5. For good weather to prevail throughout the Church Camp.
